You can learn more about AMA’s learning programs and certifications, conferences and events, and scholarly journals at AMA.org.

What to know about this role

  • This role sits within AMA’s Alliances team, a primary revenue engine of the AMA and critical driver of our mission. We partner with leading brands to develop strategic, business-focused partnerships that elevate their thought leadership, connect them with our community, and help them achieve meaningful business outcomes. The revenue our team generates directly fuels AMA’s ability to serve marketers, students, and educators around the world.

  • We are a fully remote organization with team members in over 20 states within the US. Work from the comfort of your home, a local coffee shop, or wherever in the U.S. brings you joy! However, please note that you MUST live in one of the following states to be considered for this role:

  • We are unable to consider candidates who require an H1-B sponsorship at this time.

  • Compensation includes a $65,000 base salary plus an uncapped commission plan designed to reward new business growth. Successful performers have the opportunity to earn $100,000+ in their first year, with significant upside for top performers.

You’ll work across the AMA to design partnerships and open up new revenue streams. If you want to build something scalable and see your fingerprints on the AMA’s growth for years to come, this is that role.

What you’ll be doing

  • Drive new business growth by identifying, developing, and closing strategic partnership opportunities across AMA’s sponsorship, advertising, research, events, executive engagement, and other organizational assets.

  • Develop consultative partnership solutions by understanding client business objectives and designing customized programs that create value for both partners and AMA.
  • Collaborate across the organization to develop, deliver, and optimize partnership opportunities while sharing market insights that shape future growth strategies.
  • Grow long-term partner relationships by demonstrating ROI, identifying expansion opportunities, and driving renewals.
  • Manage the sales process with excellence by maintaining accurate Salesforce records, forecasts, proposals, contracts, and other sales documentation.

What you bring to the table

  • 5–7+ years of experience in B2B consultative sales, partnerships, or business development with a track record of closing new business.
  • Experience prospecting, building pipeline, and managing opportunities through the full sales cycle.
  • Strong relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills with executive-level stakeholders.
  • 5 years of experience using Salesforce (or another CRM) to manage pipeline and forecast accurately.
  • Highly self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and a bias toward action.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop compelling client proposals.

What you may also have

  • Experience selling sponsorships, media, advertising, events, research, or marketing solutions.
  • Experience selling into enterprise organizations or Fortune 1000 companies.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit, association, higher education, or membership organizations.
  • Existing network of marketing and/or HR & talent decision-makers.

What to expect from the interview process

  • Recruiter and Hiring Manager resume review (AMA does not use AI to screen candidates at any point in our process)
  • One-way video interview on Spark Hire (We promise this isn’t scary! Our questions are well thought out, and we wanted your answers to be as well. So you have unlimited think time for each of the five questions we ask!) that will take 15-20  minutes.
  • 30-minute phone interview with a member of AMA’s People and Culture team
  • For finalists only, a short thought exercise to present during your conversation with the hiring manager

Founded in 2019 and fully distributed, we’re backed by Accel, CRV, Insight, Heavybit, and Uncork Capital.

About the Role

We are looking for a gritty, thoughtful, and curious Sales Manager to lead an Expansion (existing customers) sales team focused on the Commercial segment (<750 employees). You will be the first sales leader to build out our new Toronto sales hub. If you are looking for an opportunity to lead from the front and to build a repeatable sales machine from the ground up, this is it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in how Tailscale helps our customers
  • Lead a team of account executives from the front - prospecting with the team, leading role plays, unblocking critical opportunities, and traveling to customers to build relationships
  • Establish and refine best practices for pipeline generation, opportunity management, and customer relationship building
  • Develop and coach the team using sales data, performance metrics, and sales enablement
  • Work closely with marketing, product, sales engineering, and partnership teams to create pipeline and accelerate opportunities

What We Are Looking For

  • Aptitude for delivering world-class customer experiences: operate with a sense of urgency, exercise curiosity about customers, and strive to add value in your interactions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage many activities and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to travel to industry events once a quarter
  • This role is based in Toronto and is hybrid required (3 days/week in-office).

As a company, we strive to maintain fair and equitable compensation practices within our team across all roles and all levels. Tailscale’s compensation package includes base salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The salary range displayed on each job posting represents the target range for a new hire’s base salary. Individual offers may vary based on experience and skill set.

For this position, our pay ranges reflect target OTE (on target earnings), inclusive of base salary and variable compensation tied to the attainment of quarterly sales targets.

CAN Pay Range (OTE)

$268,000—$335,000 CAD

Frequently cited statistics show that people who identify with historically marginalized groups are likely to apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. We encourage you to help us break that statistic!

What We Offer

  • An inclusive, flexible environment where you can be your authentic self. We recognize the impact of diverse voices and backgrounds on the growth of our people, product, and company. And that flexibility in how and when you work empowers our team to integrate work and life.
  • A competitive total compensation package. This includes a base salary, an equity incentive plan and variable commission (for quota-based roles).
  • Comprehensive group benefits with no waiting period. Take advantage of coverage for health, vision, dental, and more for you and your family!
  • Remote first company—most of our teams work fully remotely. Enjoy a change of scenery wherever you can get wifi, participate in virtual and in-person social events, and leverage our corporate co-working program to visit WeWork (or other similar spaces near you). Some roles require in-office collaboration depending on team needs, which will be clearly noted in the job description.
  • Employer-funded retirement contributions. Tailscale will match your retirement contributions dollar-for-dollar, up to a maximum annual employer contribution equal to 0.75% of your eligible compensation.
  • Connect with other Tailscalars IRL. Attend our annual company retreat, participate in team off-sites, and collaborate in person with teammates across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. We support intentional in-person connection through team travel and distributed collaboration.

  • Paid time off and a healthy work-life integration. Our flexible, paid time off program supports you for any situation life throws your way, whether moving homes or travelling the world!
  • A build-your-own home office setup. You choose your own company-owned laptop (Mac or PC), receive a monthly home internet reimbursement, and $500 USD to customize your workstation to make it your own.
  • Paid parental leave program. We care about your life outside of work and encourage new parents to take advantage of parental leave top-ups (20 weeks for birthing parents, 16 weeks for non-birthing parents).

Tailscale is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive hiring process. If you require an accommodation at any stage of the recruitment process or related to any aspect of this role, please contact your recruiter.

Regional sales leader who builds and scales EMEA sales strategy, leads account executive teams across segments, manages key customer relationships, and develops the regional sales organization.

About Tailscale

Tailscale is building the new Internet by delivering software that makes it easy to securely interconnect people and their devices, no matter where they are. From hobbyists to multinational corporations, teams of every size use Tailscale each day to protect their networks, share access to internal tools, and more. We’re building a future for the Internet that’s easy, sensible, and safe, like it used to be. Founded in 2019 and fully distributed, we’re backed by Accel, CRV, Insight, Heavybit, and Uncork Capital.

Tailscale is redefining secure networking by making it simple for organizations to securely connect people, devices, and workloads anywhere in the world.

At Tailscale, we’re solving one of the most fundamental challenges in modern infrastructure: secure connectivity. Our product is loved by developers, trusted by IT and security teams, and rapidly expanding within organizations of every size. As adoption accelerates, we are investing in a regional sales motion that matches the scale of our ambition across EMEA.

We are looking for a founding Sales Director, EMEA to build and lead one of Tailscale’s most important growth initiatives. This is a rare opportunity to shape how a category-leading company enters and scales a major region, develops strategic customer and partner relationships, recruits an exceptional team, and creates the operating model for long-term growth.

About the Role

You will be a regional leader, seller, coach, and builder. You will own the EMEA sales strategy and lead teams across multiple customer segments, while personally helping advance the region’s most important opportunities and executive relationships.

You will define regional priorities, territory and segment strategy, hiring plans, outbound and expansion motions, and the operating cadence for the business. You will also help spearhead partnerships across the region, including channel, cloud, technology, and strategic alliance relationships that can accelerate customer acquisition and expansion.

Initially, you will lead a focused team of Account Executives across multiple segments and work closely with Customer Engineering, RevOps, Marketing, GTM Engineering, and Executive Leadership. As the business grows, you will play a central role in scaling the team, developing frontline leaders, and building the regional organization.

This UK-based role reports directly to the President and offers the opportunity to build Tailscale’s EMEA sales organization from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Build the EMEA Business

  • Lead  the current team and build the EMEA sales organization and go-to-market motion.
  • Develop the regional strategy, operating model, territory design, account segmentation, and coverage plan across multiple sales segments.
  • Set clear regional priorities and translate company goals into executable plans for new business, expansion, and partnerships.
  • Establish repeatable playbooks that reflect the needs of customers and markets across the UK and broader EMEA region.
  • Provide regional market insight that helps shape company strategy, product priorities, and investment decisions.

Lead From the Front

  • Personally support and, when appropriate, lead Tailscale’s highest-value and most strategic EMEA opportunities.
  • Develop trusted executive relationships with CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, infrastructure leaders, security leaders, and business executives.
  • Serve as the regional executive sponsor and quarterback for complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Coach teams on discovery, qualification, account strategy, executive engagement, negotiation, and deal execution.
  • Navigate technical, commercial, legal, procurement, and executive stakeholders to drive successful customer outcomes.

Lead and Scale Multiple Segments

  • Lead Account Executives serving multiple customer segments, from commercial and mid-market organizations through enterprise and accounts.
  • Create differentiated motions, coverage models, and performance expectations appropriate to each segment.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop exceptional sales talent across the region.
  • Build a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, curiosity, customer value, and continuous learning.
  • Develop future leaders and create the management structure required as the EMEA organization scales.

Build Regional Partnerships

  • Help define and execute the EMEA partnership strategy alongside the Partnerships organization and Executive Leadership.
  • Identify markets and customer segments where partners can accelerate awareness, pipeline creation, implementation, and expansion.
  • Create clear rules of engagement, joint account plans, and co-selling motions with priority partners.
  • Represent Tailscale with senior partner executives and at relevant regional customer and industry events.

Create Pipeline and Regional Awareness

  • Lead an outbound-first and account-based sales motion across the region.
  • Personally build executive relationships within high-priority accounts and partner ecosystems.
  • Partner with SDRs, Marketing, GTM Engineering and Partnerships to create qualified pipeline.
  • Build scalable account planning, prospecting, event, community, and partner-sourced pipeline programs.
  • Ensure the region develops a balanced pipeline across customer segments, products, countries, and sources.

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Own regional forecasting, pipeline health, hiring plans, and performance management.
  • Establish a rigorous operating cadence across forecast reviews, pipeline creation, deal inspection, account planning, and talent development.
  • Use data to identify trends, improve execution, allocate resources, and communicate regional performance to leadership.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to provide structured customer and market feedback from EMEA.
  • Build the metrics, processes, and cross-functional relationships required to scale the organization effectively.

What We Are Looking For

  • An experienced sales leader who has built or materially scaled a high-growth SaaS business in EMEA.
  • A proven leader of teams spanning multiple customer segments, with the judgment to adapt the sales motion by segment and market.
  • A builder who is comfortable operating with ambiguity, limited infrastructure, and significant ownership.
  • A strong seller and coach with a consistent record of winning complex new-business and expansion opportunities.
  • Experienced in recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing Account Executives and sales leaders.
  • Demonstrated success building outbound pipeline and establishing repeatable regional go-to-market motions.
  • Experienced developing channel, technology, cloud, reseller, or strategic partnership relationships in EMEA.
  • Executive presence and credibility with CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, and senior business leaders.
  • Strong business acumen and experience navigating complex buying committees, procurement processes, and enterprise sales cycles.
  • Deep familiarity with the UK and broader EMEA technology market; additional European language skills are valuable but not required.
  • Based in the United Kingdom and able to travel throughout EMEA as needed.

You’ll Thrive Here If You…

  • Want to build a region rather than inherit a mature organization.
  • Enjoy leading from the front while creating leverage through managers, teams, and partners.
  • Can balance strategic planning with hands-on customer and deal leadership.
  • Are energized by developing different sales motions for commercial, mid-market, enterprise, and strategic customers.
  • See partnerships as a core growth lever rather than a separate or secondary function.
  • Want to leave a lasting impact on how a category-leading company expands internationally.

Senior advisor leads client relationships and develops integrated corporate communications and reputation strategy solutions for Fortune 100 companies across multiple regions.

Lead Posted about 21 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Penta is a leading corporate affairs advisory firm that helps organizations predict what matters and shape outcomes. By combining proprietary intelligence, stakeholder insights, and strategic counsel, we help CEOs and leadership teams navigate the increasingly complex intersection of business, policy, culture, and reputation. Our clients turn to us when the stakes are high, the signals are difficult to interpret, and the consequences of getting it wrong are significant. We are building a new model for corporate affairs advisory and are seeking leaders who want to help define the future of the industry.

Penta’s global team brings decades of experience in business, government, communications, research, data science, and media. Our clients include many of the world’s most influential organizations across technology, financial services, energy, healthcare, and other sectors, including over 25% of the Fortune 100. Penta has offices in New York, Washington DC, San Francisco, London, Brussels, Dublin, and Singapore.

Role Summary

We are seeking a senior advisor with deep corporate/business-to-business communications and reputation management expertise, to help clients navigate the increasingly complex intersection of business strategy, stakeholder expectations, and global corporate reputation — particularly clients whose most important stakeholders are senior business decision-makers: customers, partners, investors, and policymakers whose judgments determine commercial outcomes. Working with CEOs, boards, Chief Communications Officers, and leadership teams, this individual will counsel organizations on corporate positioning, executive communications, reputation strategy, thought leadership, employee and stakeholder engagement, and other high-impact situations where communications can influence business outcomes — and on converting reputation into strategic business advantage: commercial demand, partnerships, valuation, and policy standing.

The ideal candidate brings strong US market credibility and experience of enterprise level client stewardship across Europe and Asia, sound judgment, and a sophisticated understanding of how organizations build trust and influence among the customers, partners, investors, policymakers, employees, media, and other stakeholders critical to their success. This leader will help shape integrated client solutions — combining Penta’s data, intelligence, and advisory capabilities into offerings clients can buy — deepen senior-level relationships, originate new opportunities, and contribute to the continued evolution of our Corporate Communications offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on corporate reputation, positioning, stakeholder engagement, and communications strategies that strengthen trust, advance business priorities, and influence the audiences most important to organizational success.
  • Serve as a trusted counselor to CEOs, boards, Chief Communications Officers, and other senior executives, providing anticipatory, actionable counsel on business-critical communications and reputation challenges.
  • Drive business development efforts by cultivating senior executive relationships, originating new client opportunities, expanding existing mandates, contributing to proposals and thought leadership, and helping grow the firm’s presence in the market.
  • Develop integrated corporate communications strategies that align corporate positioning, executive communications, thought leadership, employee engagement, and earned/ owned/paid/social/digital channels with clients’ broader business and stakeholder objectives, including B2B and thought leadership marketing programs built to engage niche, high-value business audiences.
  • Lead complex client engagements, setting strategic direction, overseeing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality execution that translates communications counsel into measurable reputation and business outcomes.
  • Partner closely with colleagues across practices and geographies, bringing together Penta’s intelligence, public affairs, crisis, reputation, stakeholder engagement, and communications expertise into coherent client offerings — and building the go-to-market alignment required to cross-sell them consistently across the firm.
  • Develop proprietary IP — methodologies, products, and AI-enabled tools — that differentiates Penta’s offering, partnering with client leads to build customized solutions rather than handing capability down from a central function.
  • Contribute to the continued evolution of the firm’s Corporate Communications offering by identifying emerging client needs, developing new approaches and capabilities, mentoring colleagues, and helping ensure Penta remains at the forefront of modern corporate affairs advisory.

Candidate Attributes

  • Deep expertise in Corporate Communications, reputation strategy, corporate positioning, executive communications, stakeholder engagement, and related disciplines, ideally gained over 15-20 years advising complex, global organizations across multiple industries.
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to CEOs, boards, Chief Communications Officers, and other senior leaders on consequential business, communications, and reputation matters.
  • Sophisticated understanding of how corporate strategy, reputation, stakeholder expectations, and communications interact to influence trust, market position, and business outcomes, particularly in B2B environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop senior executive relationships, generate new business opportunities, expand strategic client partnerships, and contribute meaningfully to the commercial growth of an advisory business.
  • Experience developing integrated communications strategies across executive positioning, thought leadership, earned and owned media, digital and social channels, employee engagement, and other stakeholder touchpoints.
  • Experience building offerings that combine data, intelligence, and advisory capabilities, and aligning teams and incentives to sell them consistently.
  • Excellent strategic judgment and an anticipatory approach to client counsel, with the ability to identify emerging risks and opportunities, distill complexity, and translate insights into practical recommendations for senior decision-makers.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a hands-on commitment to exceptional client service and high-quality work.
  • Recognized market presence in the US and experience leading enterprise level mandates in Europe and Asia, with credibility in Corporate Communications, reputation, or related fields, with a track record of contributing to thought leadership, industry visibility, and senior-level relationship building.
  • Collaborative leadership style and demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and geographies, bringing together communications, public affairs, intelligence, policy, reputation, and other perspectives to deliver the firm’s best thinking to clients.
  • Entrepreneurial and forward-looking mindset, including experience building customized, AI-driven communications solutions for specific client problems, and an interest in emerging media, organizational change, employee engagement, and new approaches to measuring and strengthening corporate reputation.
